KOSCIUSKO, Miss.–A man was seriously injured in a Sunday morning wreck on the Natchez Trace Parkway, just north of Kosciusko.
According to the Attala County Fire Dept. the wreck happened just after 5 a.m.
When a rescue crew got to the scene they discovered a car had hit a tree and was the only vehicle involved in the wreck. The Jaws of Life were used to cut the man out of the car and he was free in less than ten minutes.
The original plan was to get him to the hospital via helicopter. Instead he was taken by ambulance.
The fire department did not disclose the nature of his injuries.
Natchez Trace Park Rangers are looking into the cause of the wreck.
