Veterans talk Operation Zero and Poker Run during GMK (audio)

Kevin Dueitt and Mike “Postman” Winter with the Vietnam/Legacy Vets Motorcycle Club appeared on “Good Morning Kosciusko” Monday. The club is hosting the “Bet on a Vet Operation Zero/Poker Run” event Saturday, May 13 at the Martha Jo Leslie State Veteran’s Home in Kosciusko. There are currently 115 elderly veterans housed in the home. The event hopes to bring local residents out to visit with the veterans and to bring awareness to veteran suicide. After falling just one win short in the previous two seasons, the Kosciusko Whippet softball team is headed to the MHSAA 4A State Championship series. Whippets lose second game of playoff series

The Kosciusko Whippets varsity baseball team are in Itawamba Field to began the second game of best of three series in the 2nd round of the  4A MHSAA Baseball Championship Tournament playing the Indians of Itawamba Agricultural High School from Fulton. The Kosciusko Whippets, the 2017 4-4A Champs and the number 1 seed in region 4,  enter the game tonight with a 24-4 overall season record while the Indians enter with a 16-12 overall record and the number two seed from region 1. E-911 Dispatchers visit GMK for National Telecommunicators Week

Dispatchers with the Kosciusko-Attala E-911 dispatch center stopped by the Breezy 101 studio Wednesday morning. Director Liz Peteet and dispatcher Justin Renhack appeared on “Good Morning Kosciusko” to celebrate National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (NPSTW). The NPSTW website describes this week as a “time to celebrate and thank those who dedicate their lives to serving the public.” The city of Kosciusko recently issued a proclamation for the city to celebrate the week.
