Christian Charm School Coming to Second Baptist - June 04, 2009

A Christian Charm School Workshop will be held Friday, June 26 at 7 p.m. and continue Saturday, June 27 beginning at 8 a.m. at the Second Baptist Church in Kosciusko. A banquet dinner will be served Friday night. The conference is free but each child is required to purchase a workbook for $16. Anyone planning to attend should RSVP by June 14, by calling Terry at (662) 633-0317, or Michelle at (662) 674-0331. Alyssa Avant (left) is a Christian author, speaker and former model. A graduate of the University of Mississippi, Avant spent 9 years in the modeling industry. She also served as the youth and children’s minister at Carrollton Baptist Church for several years. In 2005, she created Beauty by Design Ministries (www.beautybydesignonline.com) to empower young girls and to help them turn to God for guidance and inspiration. Her opinions on faith, beauty and the uniqueness of the mother and daughter relationship has garnered significant attention in communities around the country. At the conference girls will learn everything from public speaking to social manners. Christian Charm School workshops are focused not only on teaching proper social etiquette to young girls, but also on highlighting the important role God plays in their lives and the ways in which they reflect the image of Christ through their daily thoughts and actions.
