On Wednesday, December 6 at 9:45 a.m., Kosciusko Fire Department and Kosciusko Police were alerted to a grass fire on Heald St. that was near a shed. The fire was quickly extinguished.
At 11:16 a.m., Kosciusko Police were called to Dollar General on Veteran’s Memorial Dr. regarding an argument in progress in the parking lot.
Officers were notified of a disturbance in progress at Hickory Hills Apartments on Hwy 12 W at 2:52 p.m.
Attala Deputies responded to a call reporting a break-in at a residence on Attala Rd. 2247/Old Trace Rd. just after 3:30 p.m.
Attala Central Fire Department and Carmack Volunteers were dispatched to a vehicle fire on Hwy 35 near the Hesterville area just after 5 p.m. The homeowner had the fire extinguished when firefighters arrived on scene. The fire is believed to have started due to an electrical short.
Attala Central Fire Department was dispatched to a grass fire on Hwy 43 S near Burdine Rd. at 5:38 p.m. This was a small pile of debris being burned by the property owner who was not aware that Attala County is still under a burn ban. Attala Fire Chief, Tim Cox says that Attala will remain under a burn ban until further notice. “We are closely monitoring fire conditions, so that it only remains in effect as long as necessary.” – Chief Cox
