Kosciusko Police Arrest Man Responsible for Franks Chevy Theft

Kosciusko Police apprehended Tearout Hutchins of Leake County today after a vehicle stolen from Pearl, MS was spotted in the city.

Officers initiated a traffic stop on Veterans Memorial Drive, where Hutchins briefly pulled into a Dollar General parking lot before fleeing onto Fairground Street. Officers arrested Hutchins at Court Square Village, just off W. Monroe St.

Hutchins faces numerous charges, including possession of paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, destruction of city property, possession of stolen property, felony fleeing, felony assault on a law enforcement officer, commercial burglary, grand larceny, petit larceny, and reckless driving.

Further investigation has revealed that Hutchins is also responsible for the August burglary of Franks Chevrolet, where he stole a 2020 GMC Sierra Denali.

Hutchins, a long-time offender known to local law enforcement, is currently being held at Leake County Correctional Facility with a bond set at $441,959.75.
