Parents Arrested in Attala County on Felony Child Abuse Charges

The parents of a young child in Attala County have been arrested after the child tested positive for methamphetamine.

The Attala County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation after being contacted by Child Protective Services.

Gatlin Ellis, 23, and Savanna Bramlett, 20, were arrested on Monday, September 22, and charged with felony child abuse.

Both were booked into the Leake County Correctional Facility with a bond set at $5,000 each.

    They both need a b*** whipping and taught how to be adults instead of living off others and not even trying to provide for a baby. Neither one should have that child! Accountability is the lesson that needs to be taught. I pray for that baby

    Felony child abuse and the bond is only $5000. The child could have died. What is the bond for attempted murder?

    $5000 is not enough bond. We have got to do better protecting our children.

    Hopefully the baby will not be returned to their custody. This is a case where they are not capable of raising a child safely.

    Im like the other folks commenting ! Whats up with this bond ? A dude got busted with a controlled substance his bond was 5000. Same for these 2 ????. I will pray that they get the help the need to straighten up their YOUNG selves! Tg the baby will be ok !
