Child Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run on Hwy 429 In Sallis Friday Evening

A child was struck by a vehicle on Hwy 429 near Main Street in Sallis just after 7 p.m. Friday, October 17. The driver fled the scene of the incident.

The child sustained serious injuries and was transported to Children’s Hospital in Jackson. The vehicle involved has not been located at this time.

Mississippi Highway Patrol is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Attala County Sheriff’s Office.
