The Aisle of Honor Ceremony was held in the Attala County Coliseum today. Ordinarily, this ceremony would have been held at the Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko. The location was likely changed due to the cold weather. The purpose, however, remained the same: to honor veterans and their families.
The program began with an invocation spoken by Quartermaster VFW Glen Blackstock. Following this was the pledge of allegiance, and the national anthem sung by Mandy Hudgins.

Afterwards, Greyce Powell gave a welcome to the crowd and an introduction to the distinguished guests of the ceremony, followed by the service anthem medley. Mervin Foster, the Attala County Veteran Services Officer, then gave the definition of a veteran.
Once the definition was provided, veterans in the crowd were given an opportunity to speak about their experiences, how and why they enlisted, or their favorite memories from service.

“Why I was there, because of everyone in the United States, and there for kids in Korea.”

“Marine Corps ain’t no cup of tea. It was a lot different than Sallis.”

“I sort of liked the way the Army worked and operated.”
He returned to service after a brief time working with a telephone company.
To finish the ceremony, Rev. Marvin Myles sang God Bless America and gave a benediction.

On this day, Boswell Media honors our country’s veterans.
