A woods fire near McCool called for firefighters and forestry Tuesday afternoon.
The Attala County Fire Department, along with McCool volunteer firefighters, responded to the fire just before 3 p.m. on Attala Rd. 5231.
Because the fire was located a ways into the woods, the Mississippi Forestry Commission was called in to assist with containment efforts.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
