A one-vehicle crash on Hwy 35 North near Attala Road 3041 sent one individual to the hospital Friday around 10:20 p.m.
One person was ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. They were transported by ambulance to Baptist Attala for treatment.
The man involved in the crash was later pronounced deceased at Baptist Attala Hospital by Attala County Coroner Sam Bell and has been identified as 34-year-old Marty Gaston of Louisville, MS.
Those at the scene of the crash believe a deer ran out in front of the vehicle, causing the wreck.
Attala County Deputies, EMS, the Attala County Fire Department, and the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
