Two-Vehicle Crash Reported Sunday in Attala

First responders were called to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Hwy 19 S and Hwy 35 S in Attala just before 1 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11.

Attala County Fire Department, Attala Deputies, EMS, and MS Hwy Patrol responded to the scene.

One individual was transported to the hospital by ambulance. No major injuries were reported.

    That corner has so many accidents. surely there is some way to alleviate the traffic there. 35 runs without stop and 19s must chance the turn or crossing when there is possibly someone coming over the hill too fast (can’t see them first) or coming from the carthage direction at high speed. It’s always hard to get accross that highway safely. AND if the big trucks are attempting to turn onto 19S they have barely enough room and often people pinch them in not realizing they have such a wide turn ratio and either they HIT you sitting there at the stop or wind up in the dirt center with the oncoming merging traffic from 35 opposite. not sure what ya’ll need to do but sure that something does need doing.

    We need a light there I live on the hill so I see it or hear it right after it happens a lot if a light was there it would help a lot
