University of Miami offensive tackle, and former Holmes Community College standout, Markel Bell has announced he is entering the 2026 NFL Draft, sharing the news on social media Wednesday afternoon.

After starting his college career at Holmes, Bell transferred to Miami and quickly became a key part of the Hurricanes’ offensive line. In his announcement post, Bell credited both teams for shaping him into the current player he is.

“I also want to thank both staffs at Holmes CC and the University of Miami for believing in me and taking the time to pursue me as a player and as a person. I most definitely wouldn’t be the player and man I am today without y’all!!”

A key part of Miami’s offensive line, Bell played in Monday’s College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

He also took a moment to reflect on the people who supported him along the way: “I wanna thank my mom, siblings, girlfriend, and Coach George for their unwavering love and support … I would trade anything in the world to be in that huddle one more time with you guys by my side.”

As he transitions to the professional ranks, NFL scouts will be evaluating Bell’s rare size, blocking ability, and championship experience.
