Classes will not be held Monday, Jan. 26 for Kosciusko School District, Attala County School District, and Presbyterian Day School due to ongoing winter weather impacts and potentially hazardous driving conditions.
The update was confirmed by Attala County Emergency Management Director Danny Townsend, who cited concerns over ice, falling trees, and unsafe road conditions across the area. With temperatures expected to remain below freezing, any remaining moisture on roadways could refreeze and create additional hazards.
Townsend said school officials will meet with county leaders Monday afternoon to reassess conditions and determine whether classes will be able to resume on Tuesday.
