A grass fire that was reported just before 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, on Attala Road 1113 burned a vehicle and part of a field.
About two acres of the field burned after a property owner was burning debris in a pit and the fire escaped into the surrounding grass.
The fire spread into a neighboring yard and eventually ignited an abandoned vehicle, which was completely destroyed.
Attala County Fire Department and Zama Volunteers responded to the scene and extinguished the blaze.
