The Mississippi Department of Public Safety (MDPS) is warning residents about a fraudulent text message currently circulating that falsely claims to be from the Driver Service Bureau (DSB).

According to MDPS, the message is part of a scam and is not connected in any way to the department or the Driver Service Bureau. Officials emphasized that neither MDPS nor DSB will ever send text messages requesting payment or personal information.

Authorities are urging recipients of the suspicious message not to click on any links included in the text. Instead, the public is advised to delete the message immediately and report it as spam through their mobile carrier.

Thank you SO much for posting this information. I myself have received 2 of these text messages!!
They have always started from a text message beginning with +99.
A call from the country phone code 99 is always a scam.
Please advise your older loved ones not to click on any links or provide information!
We must all try to help one another when possible! 📱💻☎️👼🏻🙏🏻✝️
