A standout performance at the plate has earned Kosciusko’s Jackson Schuler statewide recognition, as the The Clarion-Ledger named him a nominee for its Mississippi Boys High School Athlete of the Week for April 20–25.
Schuler had a huge performance during Kosciusko’s series sweep of the New Albany Bulldogs. The local standout recorded three hits, including a home run, and drove in four RBIs, helping power the Whippets to the series victory.
His big week placed him among several top performers from across the state selected by the Clarion Ledger sports staff. Fans can vote for the Athlete of the Week online, with voting open through noon Friday, and supporters are allowed to vote once per hour per device.
Other nominees from around Mississippi include standout baseball performances from players at schools such as Petal Panthers, Brandon Bulldogs, and Germantown Mavericks, highlighting the level of competition across the state.
