Kosciusko High School kicker Braden Ray has been named one of Mississippi’s top returning high school special teams players heading into the 2026 football season by The Clarion-Ledger.
The newspaper included Ray on its preseason watch list featuring top special teams standouts from both the MHSAA and MAIS across the state.
Ray converted 54 PATs and two field goals during the 2025 season, helping lead Kosciusko to the MHSAA Class 4A State Championship game.
Fans can vote for who they believe is the state’s top returning special teams player. Voting is open now and fans may vote once per hour per device through noon Friday, Aug. 14.

Other players included on the statewide list are Grayson Alexander (New Albany), Ross Beavers (Madison Central), Gunnar Gillentine (Petal), Isaac Iles (Brookhaven), Parker Platt (Gulfport), Michael Thompson (Oxford), and several other top returning special teams players from across Mississippi.
