Severe thunderstorms rolled across Mississippi Thursday night blowing down trees.  In the local area, two mobile homes and one house were hit by falling trees in Leake County near Singleton and several roads were blocked in the northern part of the county.  In Neshoba County, quarter-sized hail was reported near Tucker.

The website PowerOutage.com, as of 6 am, reported 1,900 customers without electricity in Leake County and 1,250 in Attala County.  As of noon, the number of outages had been reduced to 427 in Leake and 233 in Attala.

There’s a Level-1 “marginal” risk of more severe storms today mainly along and south of I-20.

A heat advisory continues for this area with an extreme heat warning for west-central and southwest Mississippi.
