A semi truck caught fire on Hwy 35 near Williamsville Rd. in Kosciusko shortly before 7 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4.
The driver reported striking a bale of hay at the intersection of highways 35 and 19. He stopped near Dollar General and the River Bridge Store to inspect the damage when the truck began to burn and quickly became engulfed in flames.
The Attala County Fire Department and Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to the scene. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, but the tractor portion of the truck was a total loss.
Big S BBQ, pictured near the burning truck, was not affected by the blaze. No injuries were reported.
