Shed Catches Fire in Attala Wednesday Afternoon, Spreads to Nearby Woods.

A shed near a residence on Attala Rd. 3122 caught fire Wednesday afternoon. The Attala County Fire Department was dispatched to the blaze just before 2 p.m.

By the time firefighters arrived, the flames had engulfed a second shed and had spread into the woods for about 4 acres.

The sheds were unfortunately not able to be saved, but the firefighters worked to contain the fire.

Initially they requested Forestry’s assistance but were able to contain the flames with the help of McCool Volunteers.

The cause was determined to be from an unattended debris burn. No injuries have been reported.
