The Kosciusko Whippets football team, still smarting from their first loss of the season last week to forever-rival Louisville, traveled to Greenwood to play the Bulldogs Friday night.
The home team scored first. Kosciusko led at the end of the first quarter, 14-6. Greenwood took the lead and led 20-14 at the half.
Kosciusko came back in the third quarter and led 28-20 going to the fourth. It got close, but the home team pulled out a 31-28 win.
Lakendrick Winters was named the Autumn Ridge Player of the Game. Now, that’s something to smile about!
Next week, the Whippets host the Yazoo City Indians. All Whippets broadcasts are available on Breezy 103, breezynews.com, the Breezy 103 app, and on YouTube on Boswell Media Sports Breezy 103FM channel.
