As the region moves into round two of the MHSAA and deep into MAIS postseason play, Attala, Choctaw, Montgomery, and Holmes county squads are lacing up for a massive slate of road trips and home-turf defenses.
MHSAA Class 4A: Kosciusko Whippets (10-1)

Matchup: Corinth Warriors (7-3) at Kosciusko Whippets (10-1)
After defending the home turf in Round 1, the The Kosciusko Whippets will make the long trek to Alcorn County to face the Corinth Warriors in another rematch from last year’s postseason.
MHSAA Class 1A: Ethel Tigers (7-3)

Matchup: Stringer Red Devils (8-3) at Ethel Tigers (6-3)
The 2026 Ethel Tigers continued to make history, getting the program’s first playoff win since 1991 last week against West Lincoln. Coach Junior Graham and crew will be at home again this week as they host the Stringer Red Devils in 2nd round action.
MHSAA Class 3A: Winona Tigers (11-0)

The Winona Tigers remained unbeaten with a dominant win over Holly Springs in the first round. The Tigers will be at home again this week, hosting the Kossuth Aggies.
MHSAA Class 3A: Choctaw County Chargers (4-6)

The Choctaw County Chargers pulled off the 1st round upset over Independence and now go on the road again for the 2nd round to face the undefeated Tigers of Thomas F. Edwards.
