A Mississippi man is accused of killing a 9-month old boy.
18-year-old Tervonte Devon Alexander was arrested Friday in Carroll County and charged with the murder of 9-month-old Sawyer Jerrell Holston.
Officials say Alexander was with the infant and his mother in Coila when someone called to report the boy wasn’t responding. The boy was taken to a Greenwood hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Following an autopsy Friday by the state Medical Examiner’s Office, Carroll County Coroner Mark Stiles declared the death a homicide. Officials haven’t said how the baby died or why they believe Alexander killed him.
