The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a warning about the potential for wildfires on Monday.
Low humidity and dry conditions will increase the danger for grass and wild fires throughout much of central and south Mississippi.
In a graphic released on its Facebook page, the NWS offered the following tips for preventing wildfires:
- Don’t let chains drag on roadways
- Don’t dispose of cigarettes on the ground.
- Opening burning is discouraged throughout much of the state.
