KOSCIUSKO, Miss.–As rescue workers were still on the scene of the fatal wreck early Saturday afternoon,  another two-car wreck with at least one injury was called in to the Attala County Sheriff’s Dept.

That wreck was between a GMC pickup and a Pontiac on Munson’s Crossing. The wreck was dispatched at 12:49, according to scanner traffic.

The extent of the injury was unclear. Both vehicles were towed away from the scene.

Some of the people who worked the second wreck had just left the scene of the fatal wreck on Hwy. 35.

An Unusual Request

While a horse and buggy funeral was happening in Ethel, county volunteer firefighters were called to a car fire on Attala Rd. 5231, between Ethel and McCool. So as not to disrupt the horse and buggy funeral, deputies and volunteers firefighters devised a route through Ethel where fire personnel could get through with minimal disruption.

They also opted not to use sirens in deference to the funeral.

The car fire was cleared in about an hour’s time.
