The Holmes Community College Bulldogs football team traveled to Summit tonight for their season opener playing the Southwest Community College Bears. Southwest scored the only points in the opening quarter to take a 7 point lead. The second quarter saw the Bulldogs scoring 2 touchdowns and the Bears adding another touchdown tying the game at 14-14 at halftime. Holmes would take a 10 point lead in the 3rd quarter and go on to win the game by 17 points, 48-31. Dandreyus Giles was named tonight’s Sullivan’s Gifts player of the game. The Bulldogs will be home next Thursday to play the Wolves of Copiah-Lincoln. Kickoff set for 6:30pm with the pregame show on the air on Breezy 101 at 6:00pm.
