KOSCIUSKO, Miss.–A woods fire was reported Saturday afternoon just before 2 on Attala Rd. 1010.
The person who called it in said that a structure was in danger but it appeared the fire was moving away from it.
When firefighters arrived, they determined the fire was bout three acres.
The Mississippi Forestry Commission was called to take over.
Another Fire
An additional fire was reported on Attala Rd. 3057 just before 4 p.m. Carmack and Central volunteer firefighters responded.
No structures were initially reported in danger. But, the person who called the fire in called back and said there were structures in danger.
When firefighters arrived they reported a one acre fire and it did catch one structure up. It was not clear whether it was a house.
All fires were out just before 5 p.m.
Yet Another Fire
Another fire, with a possible structure in danger was reported on Attala Rd. 2999 at 2114, near Hwy. 12 east was reported about 5:15.
