LOUISVILLE, Miss.–A mother who called 911 early Saturday gave Attala County emergency workers a bit of a mystery that was never solved. She said her son had been in a wreck on Hwy. 14 east, and that he needed medical attention.
But, she didn’t know where the wreck had happened, saying she believed it was in Attala County.
Just after 3 a.m. deputies, firefighters and an ambulance were all dispatched with a mission to find the brown Chevy Equinox, with a Holmes County tag, and the injured man.
Shortly after 3:30 a dispatcher could be heard saying someone had found the man on the side of the road and had taken him to the hospital in Louisville. That gave deputies who were searching for his Equinox an idea that the wreck may have actually been in Winston County.
After searching up and down the highway for the wrecked SUV, they could not find it and concluded that wreck must’ve happened across the county line.
