Trees Reported Down Saturday Afternoon, Evening

ETHEL, Miss.–A tree was reported down, with a power line also having been affected near Ethel Saturday afternoon.

That was on Attala Rd. 5205, just before 4 p.m. That was before the line of storms that caused more widespread damage came through. It was reported by someone with Mississippi Dept. of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.

The road was cleared shortly after.

Another tree was reported down on Youth Center Rd., also taking down a power line, shortly after 6 p.m.

No one was reported hurt with either incident.

A tree reported down on Hwy. 35 north about a mile north of the city limits of Kosciusko about 7:45 p.m., while the county was under a tornado warning. A deputy was able to get that tree out of the road.

Another tree was reported down on Hwy. 12 around the same time in the city limits.

Shortly after 8 p.m. a tree was reported down on Attala Rd. 4202. A deputy who surveyed the situation said equipment would bee needed to get that tree out of the way.

Trees were also reported down around the same time in both Sallis and Carmack.

A power line was reported down and sparking on Attala Rd. 2247 about 8:25 p.m. Right after that a tree was reported down on Hwy. 19 south, with a lane blocked and a power line down.
