KOSCIUSKO, Miss.–At least one person was sent to a Jackson hospital with injuries from a two-car wreck Saturday evening in Attala County.
That wreck happened on Hwy. 19 south at Crossroads Grocery just after 5 p.m.
When the call came in it was originally thought that someone was trapped in one of the vehicles. That turned out not to be the case.
When ambulance crews arrived they determined at least one person was hurt badly enough that a medical helicopter was needed. That chopper was unable to respond because of bad weather.
The patient, who according to radio communications, had multiple broken bones, pain all over and several different kinds of trauma, was first taken to the hospital in Kosciusko, then transported to a Jackson hospital.
Attala County Fire Chief Tim Cox tells Breezynews that the wreck was a head-on and that both drivers were hurt and had to be taken to the hospital.
