Gas prices in Mississippi are creeping back up after falling to their lowest level since the middle of January on Monday.  And AAA says we’re paying, on average, about nine cents more than we were at the first of the year.  Still, though, our pump prices remain the lowest in the country, and compared to our neighboring states, gas is a good bit cheaper here.  The auto club says Louisiana’s average price is more than eight cents higher than Mississippi, and Alabama and Arkansas are both about 11 cents higher. The average gas price in Tennessee is about 13 cents more expensive than what we’re paying here.  While AAA says Mississippi’s average price is now about $2.68, GasBuddy.com says drivers in Philadelphia are paying as little as $2.53 and it’s $2.54 in Carthage.  Kosciusko continues to run higher than the state average, with Gas Buddy saying the lowest price it found in Kosy was $2.75.
