At 6:26 am Attala Deputies, MedStat EMS, The Mississippi Highway Patrol, Carmack Volunteers along with Attala Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a two vehicle MVA. The caller said that two 18 wheelers collided approximately one mile north of the Carmack Fish House.

Emergency personnel arrived on scene and notified responding units that both big rigs were off the roadway but there was debris in the highway.

Two people were complaining of injuries, one with back pain and the other with knee pain. After checking the patients both were transported to Baptist-Attala with what appeared to be minor injuries.

According to authorities, one 18 wheeler stopped for a school bus when it was rear-ended by the second.

    Don’t know what the cause of this wreck was, but i can tell you these grain trucks are out of control. If you travel on hwy 35 north and hwy 19 south you know exactly what i mean. Don’t understand how these guys are getting a free pass by our Hwy Patrol. These trucks will pass you if you’re doing 60 on a 2 lane road. I’ve never seen one of these trucks pulled over by our hwy patrol..Its just a matter of time till someone gets killed by this reckless driving..
