There will be no Thanksgiving Day football for the Magnolia State’s two biggest college football teams.
A press release from ESPN confirms reports that The Egg Bowl, the annual game between Ole Miss and Mississippi State, will be played this year on Black Friday (November 29) rather than on Thanksgiving Day.
An excerpt from the release reads:
Black Friday Feast on ABC
ESPN will offer fans a feast of top-notch college football on Black Friday (Nov. 29) with a tripleheader on ABC featuring Oklahoma State at Colorado (noon), Mississippi State at Ole Miss (3:30 p.m.) and Georgia Tech at Georgia (7:30 p.m.).

The Battle for the Golden Egg has been played on Thanksgiving Day 23 times.
The last time the game wasn’t played on the holiday was 2016.
This season’s game will be played in Oxford.
