AAA: MS Gas Prices Remain the Lowest

Some parts of Mississippi have seen gas prices jump 20 cents a gallon in the past week.  But AAA says the statewide average price is only about a penny and a half higher than it was last Wednesday– around $2.96.   GasBuddy.com says you can still fill up for as little as $2.79 a gallon in Carthage and $2.83 in Philadelphia, while the lowest prices the GasBuddy app reports in Kosciusko are around $2.96.

The auto club says Mississippi still has the cheapest gas in the country and the price gap compared to our neighboring states is substantial.  Louisiana’s average price is about eight cents higher than what we’re paying.  Tennessee drivers are paying about 11 cents more than Mississippi, the average price in Alabama is about 13 cents higher and in Arkansas, about 14 cents higher.
