The Attala County Fire Department (ACFD) responded to two separate fires on Wednesday, March 12.
At 1:40 p.m., crews arrived at an equipment fire off Hwy 19 South near Attala Rd. 1163, where a Caterpillar 613 was fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, and the cause remains under investigation.
Later, at 3:20 p.m., ACFD was dispatched to a small grass fire on Attala Rd. 3120, sparked by a downed powerline. The fire burned a small section of a residence’s front yard before being contained.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
