The Attala County Board of Supervisors named a new vice-president and made other appointments Tuesday morning during the first meeting of 2024.
The board reappointed Billy Coffee (District 2) as president while Steven Goss (District 3) was appointed vice-president.
Christian Gardner and Scott Pickle were also re-appointed by the board to serve as County/State-Aid Engineer and Board Attorney, respectively.
Additionally, new sheriff Curtis Pope was appointed to the E-911 commission.
During the meeting, the board also approved the second quarter budget for the Attala County Sheriff and Tax Collector offices.
The next meeting of the Attala County Board of Supervisors will be held Tuesday, Jan. 16.
Other appointments, hires, and business from Tuesday’s meetings:
- Mark Armstrong was hired to the position formerly held by Luther Levy.
- The board approved salary increases in accordance with Senate Bill 2719.
- Shirley Horn was hired to work at the Tax Collector’s office.
- The board approved to change the McAdams voting precinct from the McAdams High School to McAdams Baptist Church.
The next meeting of the Attala County Board of Supervisors will be held Tuesday, Jan. 16.
