Attala County emergency crews responded to a vehicle fire near the intersection of Highway 12 and Highway 14 at around 8:15 this morning.
The Attala County Fire Department and Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene, where firefighters quickly worked to extinguish the flames.
According to the driver, the fire started after she heard a popping sound, followed by smoke and flames coming from under the hood.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The roadway was temporarily blocked while crews worked but reopened after the fire was contained.
