An Attala County martial artist recently won two world titles at the ISKA US Open in Orlando, FL.
Justin Cuellar took home world championships in Power Kick, a title he also won in 2017, and 3 Directional Wood at the championships on Saturday, July 7.
The events consist of breaking blocks of wood and concrete with his feet and elbows.
Justin, a firefighter with the Kosciusko Fire Department, is a member of Attala County Martial Arts and has been practicing the craft for over 20 years.
Other members of Attala County Martial Arts also competed in Orlando.
Cuellar’s wife Robin placed third in the world in the women’s Creative division.
Students Paxton Dubard, Anna Beth Hedgepeth, and Josh Denley placed first in their divisions during the Friday portion of the tournament.
The tournaments were aired live by ESPN. A replay of the events can be seen on ESPN 2 Tuesday, July 24 at 11:00 pm and Sunday, July 29 at 1:00 pm.
