Attala County ranked 45th in Mississippi county health rankings

Attala County has been ranked 45th in a recent “County Health Rankings & Roadmaps” for Mississippi.

The report was released by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute

The ranking takes in factors such as high school graduation rate, income inequality, obesity, smoking, access to healthy foods and more.

Attala’s rankings in most categories were in line with the state average, but some were slightly higher. The county’s ranking is down from 31 in 2017 and 41 in 2016.

The study named Rankin County as the state’s healthiest, while Holmes County was found the least healthy.
