Attala County Sheriff’s Office and Kosciusko Police Clarify Security Role for Homecoming Kick Back

The Attala County Sheriff’s Office and Kosciusko Police Department have both been made aware of rumors stating that they will be providing security for the Kosciusko Homecoming Kick Back, a private event.

Both Agencies have confirmed that they will not and have emphasized that public funds cannot be used to provide security for private gatherings.

The Attala County Sheriff’s Offices states that property owners and event hosts have been advised of their legal responsibilities and potential liabilities.

Kosciusko Police Officers will be out on patrol within the city limits, and while deputies will patrol the area of the event as part of their regular duties, neither agency will offer dedicated security for the event.
