The Attala County Board of Supervisors approved multiples hires during this week’s meeting.
Veronica Brooks was hired as deputy clerk and receiving clerk at the Attala County Chancery Court.
Additionally, the board approved the hires of Jorge Manjarrez, Braxton Ray (part-time), Jerod Keith, and Jonathan Dees as firefighters for the Attala County Fire Department.
The board also approved the reappointment of Shelia Rone to the Attala County Library Board and Gerry Taylor to the Holmes Community College Board of Trustees.
Other business from Monday’s meeting:
- A public hearing was held to review county Flood Plain Maps with changes made by FEMA.
- The board approved Hart Pettit, the county’s new tax assessor/collector, to open a new bank account.
- The board approved Tina White to transfer from working at the tax assessor/collector’s office to the circuit clerk’s office.
- The board allowed Sheriff Tim Nail to purchase his service firearm for $1. Incoming Sheriff Curtis Pope voluntarily donated the $1 for the purchase.
