Attala Deputies responded to a call reporting a disturbance at a residence on Attala Rd. 1157 off Hwy 19 at 7:37 a.m. The caller reported a relative was out there tearing up the home.
Kosciusko Police were called to 3 different minor two-vehicle crashes from 1:40 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. The first was in the parking lot between Spot Cash and Scott Petroleum on Hwy 12, the second in the parking lot of KFC/Taco Bell near the drive thru on Veterans Memorial Dr., and the third across from Hickory Hills Apartments on Hwy 12. Both vehicles had to be towed from the incident across from Hickory Hills, but no injuries were reported from any of the wrecks.
Attala Deputies were called to a residence on Hwy 35 S near the Leake County line at 3:30 p.m. for a disturbance in progress there.
At 5:35 p.m., a caller in Ethel requested deputies to patrol the area as there was a vehicle with obnoxiously loud exhaust driving around the block every 15 minutes or so.
Kosciusko Police responded to a call from Campbell’s Motel at 6:25 p.m. reporting that a one-year-old child had been left in a room alone. Officers checked the room and found no one. KPD was called back to Campbell’s Motel just a few minutes later regarding one motel resident being threatened by another.
Attala County Fire Department and Carmack Volunteers were called to a home on Hwy 35 N near Carmack just after 7 p.m. where a tree fell on a utility pole. This short circuited a transformer causing electricity to arc along the lines and the tree to catch on fire. Entergy disconnected the power to the line and the fire burned out. ACFD Chief, Tim Cox tells Breezy News there was no damage to any structures and no injuries were reported.
