The 1974 Kosciusko High School state championship baseball team was honored over the weekend.

Members of the team were recognized on the field prior to the Whippets’ game against Choctaw County.

Kosciusko Mayor Tim Kyle was on in attendance to present the players and coaches from the team with a resolution passed by the board of aldermen.

The 1974 team finished 17-2 and won the Class A state championship against Poplarville High School. That team was coached by Ted Milton, who would lead the team to another state championship appearance in 1975 as well.

During the Boswell Media Sports’ broadcast of Saturday’s game, two representatives from the 1974, Head Coach Ted Milton and Gerry Taylor, team joined Breck Riley on commentary.

You can hear that audio below.
