Update: The Holmes County School District has reported that the situation at the schools is clear and there is no risk to students or faculty.
National, state, and local authorities are investigating a threat made against the Holmes County School District.
Interim Superintendent Jennifer Wilson released a state through the school’s social media saying the district had been made aware of a threat to the school from a person in the United Kingdom.
After the threat, Wilson stated that Holmes County Sheriff’s Willie March notified the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security and that the Holmes County Sheriff’s Department is conducting a sweep of the high school campus.
“The safety of our faculty, staff, and students is of upmost importance and we take all threats seriously,” said Wilson. “The district will provide an update as well as we receive additional information.”
