Whippets Drop Second Game of Baseball Playoffs

The Kosciusko Whippets baseball team traveled to northeast Mississippi on Saturday to play the Amory Panthers in the second game of the first round of the Region 4A playoffs.  Coming off a close 6-5 win on Friday night, hopes were high that the home team would close this one out and advance to the next round.

The Whippets scored a run in the top of the first inning.  The Panthers answered with two in the third.  They tied it up at four in the seventh.  And Amory clinched the win with a run in the TENTH inning, 5-4.

Andrew Mancell was named the Autumn Ridge Player of the Game.  Now, that’s something to smile about!

Be sure to come back on Monday for the exciting finale of this classic matchup, a home game for our home team.
