A body has been recovered from the Pearl River near Carthage.
Leake County Sheriff Greg Waggoner identified the victim as 23-year old Joshua Taylor, of Walnut Grove. Taylor’s body was recovered Tuesday morning from the Pearl River near Highway 35. The body has been taken for autopsy.
Taylor was last seen walking along the Pearl River around noon on Saturday, July 14.
Leake County Coroner Earl Adams stated the young man had been reported missing Monday and authorities had been searching the river for two days.
MDWFP, Leake County Sheriff’s Department, and the Walnut Grove Police Department assisted in the recovery.
