A neighbor heard the alarm, and while investigating the home found a male in the residence.
Sheriff Tim Nail tells Breezy News the suspect, attempting to flee the home, jumped from a second story window and ran into a storage building.
While deputies were en-route, 911 dispatch received a call from the suspect asking for deputies to help him and remove him from the situation.
Deputies arrived on scene and found the subject hiding in a shed on the property. After checking the area, deputies found that Bear Creek Church, located near the home, had been broken into. The church had been vandalized but nothing taken. After questioning, the male admitted to the second break in.
Sheriff Nail said Dwayne Martin, a black male from Ethel, has been charged with two counts of burglary. Martin is currently being held in the Leake County Correction Facility. Bond has been set at $10,000 on each count.
