A home in the Carmack community was claimed in a fire Wednesday afternoon. Firefighters in Attala County were alerted to the fire on Attala Rd. 3215 just off Attala Rd. 3122 at approximately 12:15 p.m.
Attala County Fire Chief Tim Cox says the blaze was caused by discarded ash that rekindled and was blown under the mobile home by the wind. No one was injured in the fire. The home was a total loss.
