Cattle Thieves and Wanted Man Captured

Investigators with the Attala County Sheriff’s Department with the assistance of the Mississippi Agriculture Theft  Bureau have made two arrests for Felony Livestock Theft.  The investigation led to the recovery of several cattle that were stolen in Attala County over the weekend.   Terry Wade and Terrence Wade, both 34 year old B/M from Ebenezer Road in Lexington were arrested in connection to the theft. Both subjects are out on a $10,000.00 bond each.  The investigation is ongoing and more charges could be pending.

On 01/21/2019 Attala County Sheriff’s Deputy Nick Cox arrested Rodger Stokes, a 36 year old B/M from Walnut Grove MS. Stokes was wanted by the United States Marshal’s Service for Escape. Stokes was transported to the Leake County Jail to await extradition. According to authorities Deputy Cox was conducting a check point at an undisclosed location in the early morning hours of Monday morning when he picked up Stokes. Stokes was wanted for walking away from a halfway house in the Jackson area.
