Update: The child who was struck by a vehicle on Hwy 43 N Friday afternoon has succumbed to her injuries today, Saturday, March 8, 2025.
A child was struck by a vehicle on Hwy 43 North near Black Jack Rd. at approximately 3:40 p.m. this afternoon, Friday, March 7, 2025.
Deputies responded quickly, and EMS arrived shortly after.
The child was transported by ambulance to Baptist-Attala Emergency Department to be airlifted for further treatment.
The child’s condition is said to be serious.
MS Hwy Patrol is in charge of the ongoing investigation.
